Pastor Sophia

Greetings in Christ,

My name is Rev. Dr. Seung Hae Yoo-Hess. You can call me pastor Sophia or pastor Yoo.

Churches: Since 2013, I have served local churches (Providence/ Trinity charge – Lacrosse/ Sardis charge, Rockingham Court, and Mt Olive/Relief Charge) I am so excited to be appointed to Lebanon UMC.

Education: I finished a doctoral degree in the field of Pastoral Care and Counseling at Candler School of Theology in GA, and a master degree at Claremont School of Theology in CA. I finished a M.Div. degree at Chong-shin theological seminary in Korea.

Passion: I love to listen to people’s life stories and share God’s love and care with them. I am ready to go to people in need wherever they are. I love to work with children and youth. My ministry has focused on care for “people of all ages,” providing pastoral care and counseling and God’s healing for individuals and families, and community services. Also, I have a vision to help my church to be a community church.

Family: My parents and my brother’s family live in South Korea, and we love to talk on the phone every day. My parents are prayer warriors so they already have prayed for you. My sister and her family live in MN.

Hobbies: I love to read books, watch movies, walk a trail, and play ping-pong or bowling. But it does not mean that I am a good sport player (I also love to write and cook some Korean food, too)
